Is it true you can use Tranny Fluid to clean your dull headlights?

Mine are yellowing and dull..I am looking for a homemade solution to bring them back to new. Please help me out.\

any lubricant will give you a short time fix.


There is a kit available to remove the oxidation, in my opinion it is only about 40% effective I have used it.If you want the name of it e-me and I'll go dig it out. Your tranny fluid will probably give you the same results . You may have to do it more often than you like but you will notice better visibility. That toothpaste thing will work also.Is it true you can use Tranny Fluid to clean your dull headlights?
Toothpaste is another Urban legend that will cloud up our headlight lens. Abrasives don't work well on plastic.

Flitz polish works good, but they will dull back out over time.
you can also use motor oil.
I never heard of that one but I will tell you of something that will work, take toothpaste and a rag and you will be amazed.
I've used toothpaste, rubbed it on lens and then wiped it off then followed up with a good grade of car wax over lens
