I heard that the Environmental Protection Agency said this was true.Is it true you can use old motor oil to fertilize your lawn?
Motor oil will kill your lawn. Don't use it!
Have you been watching Fight Club? Just wondering :)Is it true you can use old motor oil to fertilize your lawn?
Nope, and it is illegal in most states to do this. There may be a process that uses old oil to somehow make fertilizer (I have never heard of it), but pouring used or new oil on the ground will only kill most anything growing there now and for several years, it will pollute the ground water. Not cool.
you are not even supposed to dispose of used motor oil in the garbage. It is a 'hazardous waste' and many communities have special days for collecting it because no one knows what to do with it. Check with your local garage or mechanic and see what they do with theirs.
There are ways to dispose of it safely, see the link below
WOW I am flabbergasted. Not only is this not true, but the epa will come and visit you and slap you with a huge fine. Motor Oil would kill your lawn and the runoff will be harmful to the environment. Slap whoever told you this or tell them to pull on the other leg, because you are lopsided.
If Valvoline Instant Oil Change can't dump their used oil anywhere they want, it would be foolish to put it on your lawn. Oil coats plant leaves and prevents release of gases from photosynthesis thus suffocating the plants exposed.
No,No,No
It'll kill off any lawn you have, not to mention how bad that would be for the enviroment.
Oil will kill any and all grass and plants. You have been lied to.
You heard wrong.
go find the person that told you that and smack them upside the head for being an idiot
you have been extremely lied to.
