Is it true that you can use KY jelly to shave instead of shaving cream?

I also heard it leaves your skin smoother. Is it true or is it just a myth?Is it true that you can use KY jelly to shave instead of shaving cream?
I've never heard of it, but KY is very expensive compared to shaving cream. You'd be going through a couple tubes a week :PIs it true that you can use KY jelly to shave instead of shaving cream?
