Is it true that sherlock holmes used to use drugs?

I have heard that in original books holmes takes Cocaine and Morphine and sometimes other mixes that his chemical friends send him, is it true on not?Is it true that sherlock holmes used to use drugs?
He used morphine and cocaine; see The Sign of the Four and a few other tales. Both drugs were legal in Holmes's time, could be bought at the corner drugstore, and were ingredients in patent medicines and popular products including Coca-Cola.Is it true that sherlock holmes used to use drugs?
Yes he did... I've read several, and he did use them...
True. He'd take a shot of cocaine when he was bored.
Yes...opium
Cocaine was used frequently in the past before people actually knew how harmful it was. It was used as a pain reliever, a tension reliever and basically a cure-all. It was even fed to children on a regular basis. The rumors are true, Coca-Cola started with cocaine as an ingredient. By the way, Sherlock Holmes is fictional.
A ';Seven Percent Solution'; of Cocaine, and occassionally, Morphine...
