What is a free, easy-to-use animator that uses true color?

I'd like to do a couple simple animations, maybe .gifs, using paint, but when I save .gifs, the picture becomes discolored. Is there a free animator that doesn't use .gifs, or is there a way to prevent my gifs from becoming discolored?What is a free, easy-to-use animator that uses true color?
I sometimes use a program called ';Pivot Stickfigure Animator'; Obviously, it's for stick figures, but it's easy and free.


But if you make separate body parts, it won't look as stickfigure-y
