Is it true you can use vinegar and water as a carpet cleaner?

Someone told me to put a mixture on my carpet and let it dry then vacume. Has anyone ever heard of using vinegar on carpets? Is it true you can use vinegar and water as a carpet cleaner?
I've misted my carpets with vinegar and also used it in my carpet cleaning machine. It works well for removing pet odors and the vinegar smell does not linger more than a day or so.Is it true you can use vinegar and water as a carpet cleaner?
never...
no....vinegar is a good cleanser, but it would stink up your carpets way too much...

Sprinkle baking soda on your carpets then vacuum 30 minutes later. That will do the trick.

Also, if you were to saturate your carpets with liquid then wait for drying you risk mold forming!
