How can we warn are children to question some things they may learn at school that may not be exactly true %26amp; very bias?

To a point yes. Everything has a bias. As one email that was sent me recently said:


';Why does the Whiskey Rebellion matter; what does the ';elastic clause'; really mean; or what if the presidency wasn't meant to be what it is today? what if the Depression wasn't a failure of capitalism, and what if the New Deal didn't save us?';





Lincoln was in some ways worse than Bush:





1. The illegal suspension of the writ of habeous corpus on his own.


2. He shut down more than 300 opposition newspapers.


3. He started a war without congressional approval.


4. He confiscated firearms in the border states.


5. Lincoln micro-managed the waging of war on civilians for four long years.


6. All telegraph communication was censored.


7. He confiscated private property.


8. He arrested his detractors.


9. He rigged Northern elections.





Do not even get me into Pearl Harbor and Japan attacking us for 'no reason.'





Every fact goes through a filter of some sort. Even how you teach basic 'facts' gives a bias.Do you think its true the Liberals use lies in text books to teach the children in our public schools?

This is not just true of one party. Every party when it has an opportunity tries to present a prejudiced picture of things. Children can be warned by showing actual instances where such deliberate misrepresentations have been made, and tell them that Truth lies somewhere between the extreme points of view. Anything seen in PRINT should not be taken for granted. Therefore it is necessary to take things with a grain of salt until one grows mature enough to assess on one's own.

theory ) .and for the record i follow the 65+million year theory because


i found a fossil of a sand dollar at the base of a Cliff and i had it tested between 100,000 and 1,000,000,000 years old, but i digress i,m sorry


we need to teach them the truth and some people are not willing follow


the truth and make up stories that it never happened .
well..it is a problem...but not a new one. even we have read lies in our textbooks. our heroes r presented as role models, like they had no flaw in them. but they definitely had, and all the upcoming heroes will have some flaws in them. no one is perfect. same is the case with incidents and situations and history.


its not a very big problem as we have gone through such phase and r still going....and maybe keep on going. whatever is read by one child in a class of 20 will be read by others too. so its not that only one or two children r being affected by this.


the best way to know about the reality of things is to have a know how of history, be aware of the currents affairs, what;s happening not in in ones own country but around the world as well. parents have to accept the realities as they r, n not to tell their child that their Nation or their leaders or their heroes r true, the rest r wrong, NO. they have to be loyal to themselves too.
and conservatives. It will probably be told that a small group of Muslims inside caves in Afghanistan plotted and took out the world trade centers and building 7 but no airplane hit building 7 and still that story told by necons is likely the story told in textbooks.
Children need to learn to use their brains. Their main educators are their parents. The parents need to encourage them not only to read a diverse amount of material but also to learn to express themselves in writing and in speech.
Becasue we are given bias and facts.
